Welcome to Teach Me!
~How`d you do that?~

one of the questions I get asked a lot. Here is where you`ll find the answers to those questions I get asked at markets or fairs, galleries or online.
Want to learn about some of those way out terms like `throwing` or centering, or firing?
I`m going to share with you here!
Pinch Me!

PictureBefore
Pinch pots are the basic and first form of pottery. What I like about them is that they are very elemental and personal; even more so than the wheel. It's  the technique the First People would have used to make their water jugs, bowls and cooking vessels and for me, that makes them such an excellent way to start learning about clay.

With pinch pots, the only tools you really need are the ones you were born with: your hands and the only gauge you have to ascertain whether your walls are even and your pot is done is your sense of touch.
(you do need a little eye action and of course a little intuition)

Here's a short tutorial that you can follow on how to make your first clay pot-a pinch pot.
If you have any questions you can post them here and do subscribe and tell a friend so you don't miss out on new tutorials.
