Shino Tea Bowl
My mother and I had a ritual while I was still at home: early morning cups of tea. It is one of the things I miss most about being home. Tea bowls remind me of that tradition and the importance of just stopping the rush for a while. Porcelain with wedged in coffee hull. Thrown on the potters wheel, slipped on the interior. Glazed in tenmoku and shino and fired to cone 10 in a reduction kiln.
