Pieces of My World II
As 2018 ushers 2017 out I find myself pensive. A recession hangs over my country and I wonder about the fate of my fledgling business; especially since I can't give it the time that I would really like to.
With that in mind I purpose to be more consistent- as consistent as my limited time would allow to the areas that I have been neglecting. For the artist it's easy to focus on the making but we (I) sometimes (most times) ignore the marketing plan and the engaging the customer through the process and the catalyst for creating.
So here I am, sitting at my lap top, a cornucopia of gel pens, complete with glitter and post its at my side and a blue book called the Social Media Planner always in my peripheral vision.
Why this particular book? Well, I sat in my favorite thinking space (don't ask but between us one can have great clarity of thought there) with my sketch book in hand and thought seriously about what I wanted to achieve business wise next year and wrote it all down. One thing was clear. I needed to plan especially if I was going to conquer the social media mountain.
I needed something specifically for planning. I like writing things down. It helps me to keep on track and not become distracted. So happened that a site I was following was launching a planner and the specs interested me. I took the plunge. And now here I am, identifying brand story and goals, understanding my motivation and customer, planning which social sites to post to on which days and the what and of course re-starting a blog.
All I wanted to do was make pots right...
